The objective is always the same:

to make the subject matter, no matter how complicated or difficult, easy to understand.

Meet Richard Pinsky

I’ve been a writing consultant to business since 1970. In addition to my career of more than forty years as a professional writer and consultant, I hold a baccalaureate degree from Rutgers University in mathematics. This additional background enables me to teach “numbers people” (finance people, technical people, and scientists) in the way they like to think and speak.

Prior to developing my writing workshops and coaching sessions in 1990, I spent twenty years writing documents for clients in a wide array of industries. My work included business analysis, technical analysis, functional specifications, design documents, industrial films, advertising copy, proposals, textbooks, workbooks, training materials, corporate guidelines, standards and procedures, user books, interactive videos, slide presentations, promotions, speeches, magazine articles, letters, and memos.

Over my career, my clients have included major corporations like American Express, Avon Products, The Children’s Television Workshop, General Electric, IBM, JP Morgan Private Bank, Pfizer, and many others. (Please click here for a fuller list of clients.)

I’ve written radio plays commissioned for broadcast on National Public Radio, a screenplay that was under option twice at Universal Studios, and stage plays, including one that won a national playwriting competition. I was also once a comedy writer for Joan Rivers, David Brenner, and Alan King.
